Historian Benny Morris, author of 1948: The First Arab-Israeli War, recounted the Arab-Israeli War of 1948. In the book Mr. Morris explores the political and military aspects of the conflict as well as the roles played by the Soviet Union, United States, and Britain. Following his remarks, he responded to questions from the audience.

Benny Morris is a Middle East Studies professor at Ben Gurion University in Israel. He is the author of several books, including Israel’s Border Wars, 1949-1956 and Righteous Victims: A History of the Zionist-Arab Conflict, 1881-2001. close
