Defense Secretary Robert Gates spoke to reporters and answered questions about the resignations of Air Force Chief of Staff General Michael Moseley and Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne. Secretary Gates requested their resignations after two incidents revealed significant and systematic errors in the oversight, accountability and monitoring of nuclear weaponry. He also said he had appointed a senior-level task force to recommend improvements in the safekeeping of nuclear weapons, delivery vehicles and other sensitive items. close
