The Libertarian Party national convention selected the party’s candidate for president of the United States. The procedings were opened with a speech by party activist Barry Hess.

After nomination and seconding speeches, the presidential candidate nominees made acceptance speeches. The nominees were: Wayne Allyn Root, former Representative Bob Barr (R-GA), Christine Smith, Mary Ruwart, George Phillies, Steve Kubby, Michael Jingozian, and former Senator Mike Gravel (D-AK). Wayne Allyn Root and Michael Jingozian included campaign videos.

Scenes were shown of the vote tallying and of conversations on the convention floor between votes. Joe Johnson, who had recently completed a four-year term on the Board of Trustees of Frederick, Colorado, made a speech about his experiences as an elected Libertarian official.

During the presidential nominating process, each candidate spoke as he was eliminated from the ballot. Bob Barr won the nomination on the sixth ballot and made an acceptance speech.
