Air Force officials testified about the $35 billion Air Force tanker contract awarded the previous week to a partnership between Northrop Grumman and the European parent of Airbus instead of to the other bidder, Boeing. They testified about the process of handling proposals, contracts, and the Air Force acquisition strategy. There were heated questions about the reasons for choosing a non-U.S. company for the contract.
