Carl Cannon talked about his book Reagan’s Disciple: George W. Bush’s Troubled Quest for a Presidential Legacy, published by PublicAffairs. In the book which he co-authored the book with his father, Lou Cannon, he compares the presidencies of the fortieth and forty-third presidents. He examined the current Bush administration’s attempts to become the successor to the Reagan presidency. From President Bush’s belief in lower taxes to his conservative social policy, the Cannons ask if the Bush administration was successful in following the Reagan model. The guest interviewer was Bob Schieffer, chief Washington correspondent for CBS News and host of “Face the Nation.”
