Democratic presidential candidate former Senator John Edwards addressed supporters at the Manchester Health Care Forum. Also participating were Elizabeth Edwards, David “Mudcat” Saunders, and Rep. Ben “Cooter” Jones.

Edwards supporter James Lowe, a former coal miner from Wise County, Virginia told of how he couldn’t speak for 50 years because he couldn’t afford the operation he needed to fix his cleft palate. The family of Nataline Sarkisyan, who passed away in December, explained that her health insurance company refused to pay for the liver transplant she needed.

The forum was held in the Franco American Centre.
