Judge Richard Allen Posner talked about the increasing number of immigration cases in the U.S. and judicial review of immigration judges at a special presentation of The Chicago Bar Association’s Administrative Law Judges Committee. He criticized the asylum court system as inadequate and called for the expansion of the Board of Immigration Appeals. He called for a judicial conference on concerns about how inconsistently asylum laws are applied. He also called for better training for the Bureau of Immigration Appeals judges, especially on international issues that they need to consider.
