Ed Gray talked the book he co-wrote with his father, In Nixon’s Web: A Year in the Crosshairs of Watergate, published by Times Books. Ed Gray completed the memoir after his father, L. Patrick Gray III, died on July 6, 2005. Mr. Gray showed slides throughout his presentation. Then he responded to questions submitted by members of the audience.

In his memoir, L. Patrick Gray, III, the second director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (May 1972-April 1973), recounted his tenure and his knowledge of the Watergate scandal. Mr. Gray decided to write his recollections following the disclosure of Mark Felt’s identity as “Deep Throat” in 2005. The former FBI director claims the Nixon administration wanted to marginalize him after it became apparent that he would not lie to protect them and contended that “Deep Throat” could not have been one person. close
