Mr. Pollan argued that the American diet of generations ago that relied on whole foods has been erroneously displaced by one that is highly processed and marketed with the promise of dubious nutrition. He advised that for healthy eating: "eat food, not too much, mostly plants." He responded to questions from members of the audience.
