Dr. Ben Carson talked about his rise out of poverty through education, the importance of education to the country, and how it can be improved. He told of instances when he overcame peer pressure and low expectations. With determination and his mother’s support, succeeded in becoming the director of pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, as well as professor of oncology, neurosurgery and plastic surgery. He responded to questions submitted by members of the audience.
