David Kennedy talked about teaching and writing about U.S. political and military history of the wars of the 20th century to the present day. Mr. Kennedy is the editor of The Library of Congress World War II Companion, published by Simon and Schuster in October 2007. The book uses excerpts from contemporary letters, journals, pamphlets, and other documents, as well as first-person accounts recorded by the Library of Congress Veterans History Project to examine World War II, its causes, conduct, and aftermath in a series of essays by historians on the staff of the Library of Congress.
