Donald Critchlow talked about his book The Conservative Ascendancy: How the GOP Right Made Political History, published by Harvard University Press. In his book Professor Critchlow chronicled the history of the modern Right over the last sixty years and described how each time they faced defeat they rebounded stronger than before. He explored the battle for control of the Republican Party as well as the battle between conservatives and liberals for control of the government. Mr. Critchlow responded to questions from the audience.
