Panelists talked about the outlook for the 2004 presidential election campaign and about how the candidates are polling on a variety of issues. Among the issues they addressed were the effect on the elections of terrorism, the 9-11 Commission, Iraq, the economy, jobs, gas prices, taxes, and the environment. Ms. Jeffe spoke about the success of Governor Schwarzenegger in California and the effect that could have on the presidential election. Mr. Ayres spoke about the outlook in the Southern states as well as the difficulties of forecasting. After their remarks the panelists responded to questions from members of the audience. Mr. Glassman moderated the event. close
