Victor Gold talked about his book, Invasion of the Party Snatchers: How the Holy-Rollers and the Neo-Cons Destroyed the GOP, published by Sourcebooks. He argued that the Republican Party has accepted non-conservative ideas such as fiscal irresponsibility and a theocratic view of church and state. He talked about the internal party conflicts and the prospects for restoring its commitment to limited government and a constrained role for politics. After his presentation Mr. Gold responded to audience members' questions.
