Panelists on both panels talked about U.S. Supreme Court Justice Powell’s legacy and school diversity. Topics included Powell’s methods of decision-making, his influence on court decisions, college admission policies, problems of administering affirmative action, the Supreme Court cases having to do with both school desegregation and affirmative action, and the future of affirmative action in higher education. The panelists responded to questions submitted by audience members.

2007 marks the 100th anniversary of Justice Powell’s birth.
