Michael Scheuer talked about Al-Qaeda’s worldwide influence, including its scope and potential danger. During the past week, two bombings in Iraq’s parliament building and in Algeria have been linked to groups claiming connection to Al-Qaeda. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.

Mr. Scheuer is currently a senior fellow at the Jamestown Foundation.
