Martha Raddatz was interviewed about her book, The Long Road Home: A Story of War and Family, published by Putnam. The book is about the “Black Sunday” battle in Sadr City, Iraq, in which eight Americans were killed and more than 60 wounded. Ms. Raddatz said the battle was a turning point in the war in Iraq because it marked the emergence of a full-blown Iraqi insurgency. The guest interviewer was retired Marine Colonel Thomas Hammes, author of The Sling and the Stone: On War in the 21st Century, published by Zenith Press. close
