Two authors talked about the abolition of the slave trade, moderated by Rev. Scot Sherman. After their discussions, they responded to audience members' questions.

Eric Metaxas was interviewed about his book, Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery, published by HarperCollins. William Wilberforce (1759-1833) was one of the leading abolitionists in the campaign to end the British slave trade, which was accomplished in 1807, and to end slavery in the British colonies, which was enacted three days before Wilberforce’s death in 1833. The book was published to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the British slave trade, and a feature film version was released that weekend.

David Batstone was interviewed about his book, Not for Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade--and How We Can Fight It, published by HarperSanFrancisco. He explored today’s global slave trade and the contemporary abolitionist movement. He visited five continents as he researched the hidden network of human trafficking that amounts to a 32 billion dollar industry. The author described ways to fight the slave trade.
