Robert Kagan was interviewed about his book Dangerous Nation, published by Knopf, the first of two volumes on U.S. aggressive expansion. He said it is a myth that the U.S. has always been isolationist. Topics included the war in Iraq, his support of President Bush’s troop surge, the Clinton administration’s failure to contain Saddam Hussein, and pre-September 11 foreign policy.
