Robert Pinsky, the former U.S. Poet Laureate, talked about the work of two major 20th century poets, Robert Frost and William Carlos Williams, whose distinct voices are unified by a common interest in the American idiom and the construction of the American memory. Mr. Pinsky examined the shared themes in their work and their impact on American culture. He responded to audience members' questions.

Robert Pinsky is the author of six books of poetry and teaches at Boston University.

Branching Out NYC is a program of the Poets House and the Poetry Society of America. This event, “Robert Pinsky on Robert Frost and William Carlos Williams,” was co-sponsored by and held at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. close
