Dinesh D’Souza discussed his life, philosophy, and writings. He responded to viewer telephone calls and electronic mail. Topics included his intended influence on public policy, counteracting liberal attitudes that are taken for granted, denouncing political correctness, widening the debate on the background causes of the September 11 terrorists attacks, liberalism of college professors, and the mistake of trying to impose secularism on Middle Eastern governments. He said that the Carter administration’s encouraging the Shah of Iran to abdicate “was one of the worst blunders in American foreign policy in the past half century.”

Video clips were shown of him at his home in Rancho Santa Fe, California, from January 21, 2007, discussing his writing techniques. Mr. D’Souza responded to a video clip which was shown of Glenn Loury criticizing him in a 2002 “Booknotes” interview.
