Michael Oren talked about his book Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East, 1776 to the Present, published by W.W. Norton. He described the United States' involvement in the Middle East over the past 230 years. He argued that since the 20th century the U.S. has replaced Britain as the dominant “imperial” power in the area. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions.

Mr. Oren also wrote Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East. close
