Herman Badillo talked about his book, One Nation, One Standard: An Ex-Liberal on How Hispanics Can Succeed Just Like Other Immigrant Groups, published by Sentinel. Former Rep. Badillo explained why most Hispanics do not put the same emphasis on education as other immigrant groups. He argued against the bilingual education that he once promoted and asserted that minority students should put their self-esteem ahead of their academic performance. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions.
