The guests participated by remote connection from St. Louis about Missouri’s stem cell ballot measure. Amendment #2 gives constitutional protection to embryonic stem cell research in the state. Opponents claim the measure would allow human cloning and proponents say that is not the case. The Stowers Institute for Medical Research in Kansas City, Missouri, has put on hold plans for expansion into this area of research and expansion of its physical plant until after the vote. The guests responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.
