French President Chirac addressed the United Nations General Assembly on the opening day of the 61st session. In his remarks he talked about Iranian nuclear development saying that France, the European Union, and the U.S. were in basic agreement on their position that Iran not engage in nuclear weapons development. He also said that Europe would continue to negotiate with Iran on the suspension of enrichment activity.
