A memorial service was held for former Texas Governor Ann Richards, who died Wednesday, September 13, at the age of 73. Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk, who was secretary of state for Governor Richards, served as master of ceremonies. The service included a video presentation and music by the Austin Wesley United Methodist Church Intergenerational Choir and Ms. Jessye Norman. Speakers reflected on Governor Richards' life and career, as well as her famous wit and personality.
The service was held in the University of Texas Frank Erwin Special Events Center in Austin, Texas.
