Representative McKinney spoke about her loss in the primary runoff election for the Democratic nomination in Georgia’s 4th Congressional District.

Rep. Cynthia McKinney and DeKalb County Commissioner Hank Johnson were contesting for the Democratic nomination in Georgia’s 4th Congressional District. A primary run-off was held for Rep. McKinney’s seat as neither candidate received the required majority in the July 18, 2006, Democratic primary.
