Professor Minow interviewed Mr. Alter onstage about his book, The Defining Moment: FDR’s Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope, published by Simon and Schuster. Mr. Alter explained that President Franklin Roosevelt, during his first one hundred days in office, laid the foundation for national recovery after the Great Depression. He also talked about the 1932 presidential election. After the interview Mr. Alter responded to audience members' questions.
