Peter Bergen talked about his book The Osama bin Laden I Know: An Oral History of al Qaeda’s Leader, published by Free Press. Topics included minutes of al-Qaeda meetings found in Bosnia, interviews of persons in Saudi Arabia who know Osama bin Laden, bin Laden’s family, and training camps in Afghanistan. Mr. Bergen used these first-hand accounts by bin Laden’s family members and close friends to document bin Laden’s transformation from a shy teenager into the commander of one the largest terrorist groups in the world. After his presentation the author answered audience members' questions.
