Caroline Finkel talked about her book Osman’s Dream: The History of the Ottoman Empire, published by Perseus Books Group. She described the rise and fall of the Ottoman Empire, looking at the history of the empire through the eyes of the Ottoman Turks, and argued that Western historians have unfairly relegated the Ottoman Empire to a smaller role in world history than it deserves. She read passages from her book and answered questions from members of the audience.
