Matthew Spalding talked about The Heritage Guide to the Constitution, published by Regnery Publishing. He was the executive editor of the book, which he edited with former Attorney General Edwin Meese III and David Forte. Mr. Spalding held a colloquium with students about “Does the Original Constitution Still Matter?” concerning the debate over the Constitution as a “living document.” Mr. Spalding discussed how the book was put together and made a case for why it should be considered the most comprehensive guide to the Constitution currently available. After his presentation he answered students' questions.

Mr. Spalding is the author of A Sacred Union of Citizens: George Washington’s Farewell Address and the American Character.
