Witnesses testified about the dangers of child predators on the Internet and ways to protect children by better educating parents and the children themselves. It was noted that the anonymity and accessibility of the Internet allow child predators to operate easily, and that the extent of online child pornography is staggering.

There were five panels of witnesses, including Mr. Berry who was exploited as a thirteen-year-old and journalist Eichenwald who reported on his story. At the end of his testimony Mr. Berry identified Mr. Gourlay as a person whom he alleged had molested him. Mr. Gourlay was sworn in but declined to answer questions, citing his Fifth Amendment rights.

Topics included developmental pediatrics and the effects of sexual exploitation on children, cyber tip lines for reporting suspected Internet child exploitation, digital stalking, child prostitution, attempts to identify the children in online pornography, the role of law enforcement, the large amounts of money involved in child pornography, and organizations that help exploited children and educate children to prevent exploitation.
