At an event commemorating the 25th anniversary of the assassination attempt upon then President Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981, Dr. Jim Scott gave an overview of the events of that day and introduced Dr. Joseph Giordano, head of hospital trauma team in 1981, who was one of the first doctors to treat President Reagan and Dr. Rob Shesser, another of the physicians who treated Reagan during his 1981 visit. Steve Roberts talked about news coverage and Richard Reeves talked about the historical impact of the assassination attempt.

Dr. Rob Shesser then spoke about former President Reagan’s return to George Washington University Hospital 10 years later to found the Reagan Institute in 1991, and panel of military physicians who had cared for several former presidents talked about medicine and politics.
