Journalists Nick Kotz and Karl Fleming reported on the civil rights movement during the 1960s. The men discussed their experiences in the segregated South in the 1960s and 1970s. Fleming told of being chased out of a Southern town by an angry mob, while Kotz discussed the relationship between President Johnson and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as it developed throughout the 1960s. Both writers talked about how their Southern upbringing allowed them to blend in with the dogmatists of the South but did little to alleviate the dangers of the situations they covered. After their presentations they answered audience members' questions.
