Loretta Napoleoni talked about her book Insurgent Iraq: Al-Zarqawi and the New Generation, published by Seven Stories Press. The book is about Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who is widely described in the U.S. as the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq. In her book, Ms. Napoleoni said that there has been a myth created around al-Zarqawi and his actions in Iraq. She argued that Secretary of State Colin Powell, in his February 2003 speech to the United Nations, did more to create support for al-Zarqawi than al-Zarqawi himself had done up to that point. After her presentation Ms. Napoleoni responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.
