A book group met at the New Carrollton Branch of the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System to discuss Erik Larson’s book, The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America, published by Crown Publishers. In the book Mr. Larson juxtaposed the stories of architect Daniel Burnham and serial killer Dr. Henry H. Holmes. Both men played an historic role in the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
