Participants talked about the future or the U.S. Marine Corps. The first panel focused on the role of the Marine Corps in national security strategy. Among the issues they addressed were the use of expeditionary forces in recent military operations, missions within joint military structures, various proposals for future missions and structures for the Marine Corps, and developing capabilities to meet future threats. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience.
