The 2005 Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission held a regional hearing on the list of possible closures and realignments of defense bases. Elected officials and community representatives testified about the impact of closing or realigning military installations in Maine. The installations under consideration were Naval Air Station Brunswick and Defense Finance and Accounting Service Limestone.
