Patricia O'Toole was interviewed about her book When Trumpets Call: Theodore Roosevelt after the White House, published by Simon and Schuster. Theodore Roosevelt left the presidency at the age of fifty. The author described the ex-president as spending the rest of his life in search of a public role to satisfy his needs for power and action. She was interviewed by former U.S. Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle. Patricia O'Toole is the author of Money and Morals in America: A History, and The Five of Hearts: An Intimate Portrait of Henry Adams and His Friends. She is a professor of nonfiction in the Graduate Writing Division of Columbia University's School of the Arts. Tom Daschle is currently special policy advisor at Alston and Bird Law Firm. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives 1987-1986, and was elected to the U.S. Senate in1986. He became minority leader of the Senate in 1994, majority leader in 2001, and minority leader again in 2002, until his defeat in the 2004 elections.
