Mr. Cannon argued that what happened at Abu Ghraib was a reflection of the decline in ethics within American society as a whole. He said that the media had presented a very narrow picture of the events and had mislead the public into thinking that the problem lay within the military or with President Bush. Mr. Cannon also talked about the recent decision in the Lyndie England trial and the overall war in Iraq. After his remarks he responded to questions from members of the audience.
