Clyde Prestowitz talked about his book Three Billion New Capitalists: The Great Shift of Wealth and Power to the East, published by Basic Books. He argued that America was headed toward an “economic 9/11.” In his book Mr. Prestowitz detailed China and India’s focus on capitalism and the threat they posed to Western economic domination. The author cited the Internet and large amounts of American consumption as other factors for the deterioration of the dollar. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
