Flynt Leverett talked about his book Inheriting Syria: Bashar’s Trial by Fire, published by Brookings Institution Press. Seymour Hersh, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist for the New Yorker, and James Bennett, feature writer for the New York Times and the paper’s Jerusalem bureau chief from 2001 to 2004, joined Mr. Leverett for a policy discussion on Syria’s domestic politics, foreign relations policies, as well as U.S. policy options toward the Asad regime. Martin Indyk moderated the discussion. Panelists responded to questions from members of the audience after their remarks. close
