Michael Weinstein and Joseph Siegle talked about their book The Democracy Advantage: How Democracies Promote Prosperity and Peace, published by Routledge. In it, the authors proposed that democratic development was superior to an autocratic government because in measurable fields like life expectancy, quality of life, international relations, and education democratic systems had produced better results. The authors also discussed how autocracies had been surpassed by the success of democracies over the last forty years. They also responded to comments and questions from the audience.
