Mr. Zelizer talked about the book he edited, The American Congress: The Building of Democracy, published by Houghton Mifflin. He gathered 40 essays by renowned historians to capture the landmark legislation, memorable personalities, and full drama of Congress. He was joined by a panel of contributors who talked about various aspects of congressional history, and themes in past legislative proposals to American needs. Following their remarks they answered questions from members of the audience.
