Massachusetts Governor Romney was the featured speaker at the Spartanburg County Republican Party Presidents' Day fundraising dinner in what many political analysts are describing as the kickoff for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination campaign. South Carolina is expected to host the first Southern primary in the 2008 presidential campaign. Governor Romney has been mentioned as a possible candidate.

The program began with an interview with Rick Beltram, chairman of the Spartanburg County (SC) Republican Party about why Governor Mitt Romney was at the dinner. Then were scenes of Governor and Mrs. Romney in the pre-dinner reception line. The speech was shown, and a portion of the reception line after the dinner. close
