The first on-camera joint appearance by Senator John Kerry, Senator John Edwards and their families was a photo opportunity held at Teresa Heinz Kerry’s estate outside Pittsburgh. It was held on Wednesday morning, July 7, 2004 before a day of campaigning. Senators Kerry and Edwards spoke about pleased they were to be campaigning together. Mrs. Kerry spoke about the environmental and economic struggles of the area. Mrs. Edwards spoke in appreciation of the Kerrys. The children of the families were acknowledged.
