Professor Chace discussed his book 1912: Wilson, Roosevelt, Taft, and Debs--The Election That Changed the Country, published by Simon and Schuster. He described the personalities and relationships between Woodrow Wilson, Teddy Roosevelt, William Taft, and Eugene Debs. In his book Professor Chace speculates that the U.S. would have entered and ended World War I earlier if Roosevelt had won the election. He suggested that under Roosevelt, the Republican Party would have been drastically different from the party that exists. After his presentation, Professor Chace answered questions from members of the audience.
