Senator Lugar talked about new strategies to combat global terrorism and promote peace in the Middle East. Among the issues he addressed were improving economic conditions in the region, establishing a trust through G-8 countries to facilitate development and democracy, and NATO involvement in Iraq and the Middle East. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
