Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, met with local residents in Kalona, Iowa. She spoke for about 20 minutes and then took questions before mingling with those attending the gathering at The Ruby Elephant, a local coffee shop.

Iowa holds the first-in-the-nation presidential caucus on January 19, 2004.
