November 22, 2003, marked the 40th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas. The following oral history interviews provided by the 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza were shown to mark the event:

An oral history interview with Dr. James Carrico, the Parkland Hospital surgeon who was part of the medical team that tried to save President Kennedy’s life. It was recorded August 21, 1997.

An oral history interview with Malcolm Kilduff, the assistant White House press secretary traveling with President Kennedy in 1963. He made the announcement of the president’s death at Parkland Hospital. It was recorded April 16, 1993.

An oral history interview with Don Hewitt (the creator of “60 Minutes” and the producer of the first televised presidential debate between Kennedy and Nixon). In 1963 he was the executive producer of the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. It was recorded November 9, 2002. close
